  • Another opportunity...

I just got a phone call from someone who asked me to do a small job for an organization.  I told her just to buy the materials and I would do it for free.  She said no and insisted on paying $50.

If you are doubting your finances, there is freedom!

  • Coincidence or Intervention?

We overdrew.  Yep overdrew alot.  We have been hurting financially and have tried to make do, but this month it didn't work.  I was very down.  And of course it happened on my birthday!  Yep a rainy, dreary birthday with NO money!  $245 in penalty fees.  Good Heavens!  Not to mention that Rob had an extra job lined up and it was rained out.

Anyway, we went to church on Sunday and I pulled out my checkbook and wrote a check for tithe.  A check that was no good!  No money remember?  We have been so bad about tithing.  We are sporadic and just don't do it like we should.  But that morning, I felt the urge to give even though I couldn't and at that moment I felt relieved.  I said to myself that I'm giving the problem over to God and I had heard that if you are faithful with your tithe then you will always be provided for.  Mom said not to give selfishly, but I said I was giving with faith.  Faith that something will change.

We went home and I took a short nap.  When I woke up I had a thought.  I realized that I could move a bill a few days later and then that would give us money until I get paid again.  It's a loan payment that doesn't charge late fees!  And it would be within a grace period anyway.  Then Rob got more jobs lined up.  Then on Monday I got the opportunity to work at the tv station as an extra day and I got $20 extra dollars for that.  All of a sudden, we went from being way in the hole to having almost $300 extra dollars!  (within 3 days)

I look back......I wrote a check for $20 at church.  We were in the hole about $400 more than that at the time.  Was this coincidence or Divine Intervention?

BTW, we are in the clear now and we're going to be okay!

    Updates

Yes, I"m still around!  Just on Facebook more than anything.  I enjoy having the quick status update rather than sitting down to a long post!  Sorry!

Because I use the laptop much more in this new house, I don't post pictures much.  I have several pics to share and I'll try to do that soon.  Again, I do that on FB more.  I may come to the conclusion that I no longer need this blog.  But I do enjoy reading everyone else's!

Anyway, the past 2 months have just been crazy!  Katie was in a muscial with a local theater company.  She did a great job, as did they all!  We love that group.

Charlie is funny, as always and turns 4 real soon.  His latest thing is talking to everyone about anything.  He will be a politician one day!  Lord help us!

Abbie is walking now!  Just started at 15 months.  She doesn't like to walk, but she will.  Se would rather do this weird side-step on her knees!  LOL  Anyway, our lives are about to get crazier once the walking goes into full effect!

I am busy.....been doing TV still, working on the symphony board (which is ALOT of work), and school is crazy busy!  Trying to manage with Rob's strange off/on schedule.  It's hard.

Right now, mom is sick and Charlie has a 102 degree fever.  Rob was sick all weekend and I felt horrible all day.  Pray for us that we stay as well as we can!

I hope everyone in blogland is doing well!  Keep in touch!

  • Tea Party update

Katie had a great time at her Tea Party.  They are studying the Victorian times and this went right along with it.  There are 4 in her class and one is a boy!  He was shy and didn't want to have anything to do with it because he was afraid the word would get back to his friends in the main class.  (this class is a pull-out during the day)  SO the 3 girls had fun being prissy.  They ate cookies that MeeMaw and Katie made and drank tea.  Their poor teacher broke her arm and so that made for difficult pouring!  I wish I had pics, but I didn't send a camera with her.

Katie also tried out for a musical.  Into the Woods, JR.  It was HARD music so most of the main roles were filled with older kids in college or late high school.  She did get a narrator part!  So at least she's involved and doesn't have too much to learn!  YAY!

  • Dear Xanga Cousins......

This dress was the dress that my mother wore in Aunt Patty's wedding!  Mom was 27 when she wore it and she said it is tight on Katie!  I guess there was a good reason mom's students called her Olive Oyl!

Katie has a Tea Party tomorrow in her enrichment class.  She has to dress for it, so she will wear this.  What cool family history!  And when she called to tell her Aunt Patty about the Tea, guess what Aunt Patty was drinking???

  • He found it!

You know, the hole in boys' underwear?  Okay, well Charlie has found that hole.  The other day he went to my mother's house and needed to potty.  Something told me to go back there....I usually don't when he pee-pees.  Anyway, I got there just in time to see his little thingy poking out of his underwear hole and pee all in the trash can and all over the stool.  The hole made his thingy go sideways and he didn't know!

    Then.......later that day......

I walked into the living room while fussing at him about something....who knows what!?!?.....and I looked down.  I shouldn't have! He stood there listening to my fussing dressed in a t-shirt and underwear with his little thingy peeking out of the hole!!!!!!!  Yep, I had 3 eyes looking at me!  Good grief!  I actually had to say "put that back in your underwear, Charlie."  We say weird things as parents!

    I'll leave you with that!

    Well.....

I guess no one could help me on my email situation!  I still don't get email updates so I'm slow to see blogs.  Oh well!

I'm also slow to write these days.  In our new house, the laptop is upstairs and the desktop (main) is in the basement.  All the pictures are on the desktop, but I'm rarely down there!  I use the laptop much more.  So I never post updates to my blog---sorry.  One of these days, I will post a pic update!

Karen just left this AM.  She spent a week and a half with us.  She stayed with mom, but we did the eating at our house since we now have lots of room!  I have also learned some quick tips for cooking thanks to my cousins.  Any recipes are still greatly appreciated!  You know, cheap.....large quantities.....tasty.....easy!  Oh yeah, and something that contains processed meat for Charlie!  He's a Vienna Sausage fan!!  LOL

Charlie.......goodness gracious!  He's so funny all the time!  I wish I could video tape him 24/7.  His timing is perfect and his musicality is amazing!  He can double-tongue, sing Beethoven, Mozart, and Bach on cue, and he can sing any theme from any section of most Harry Potter movies.  (he really only watches them because of the "flying blue car")  LOL

Okay, enough chatter...I'm tired.  Up all night with a sick baby.  My neck feels like I was in a wreck.
